Jan Kovacic, DVM, Diplomate ACVECC
Partner
Dr. Kovacic has worked in the field of veterinary emergency and critical care since his graduation from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. He opened the first emergency clinic in the State of Wisconsin that then became the first referral hospital in the United States dedicated to 24-hour emergency and critical care.
Dr. Kovacic has provided consulting services to veterinary referral practices in North America for more than 25 years. Horizon Veterinary Services has grown out of that experience and has become the joint effort of experienced veterinary professionals who share a vision of practice management based on principle, policy, stability and experience.
Dr. Kovacic has lectured extensively on the management of referral centers, but also understands that these lectures may alert people to their problems but rarely solve them. He believes that the answers come from detailed analysis and the application of education, expertise and experience to the complex issues that confront every practice. This is why Horizon exists - to apply this knowledge at the point of care.
Dr. Kovacic is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. His work in clinical practice is dedicated to the training of residents in his specialty.
